Who is SDT?Sigma Delta Tau was founded at Cornell University on March 25th, 1917 over 100 years ago! Seven brave woman started their own organization founded upon the core principles of womanhood, democracy, and humanity.
Here at the University of Massachusetts, the Psi Chapter of Sigma Delta Tau was founded on December 15th, 1945. Today, there are now over 105 chapters across the country with 70,000+ members. |
What is our purpose?Sigma Delta Tau inspires each member to reach her fullest potential by enriching the experience of women with similar ideals through inviduality, connection, engagement, and community. We believe that empowered woman empower other woman, that is our mission.
Across the country, SDT is uplifting woman everyday. We believe our seven founders would be incredibly impressed and content with the work Sig Delt provides for woman. |

Our sororities flower is the yellow tea rose! Our chapter is represented by The Torch, a symbol of freedom, knowledge, and inspiration. Our torch represents the guiding light in darkness, never give up!
Our colors are Cafe Au Lait and Old Blue. A teddy bear is our chapters mascot and the ancient lapis lazuli is our sacred jewel. |
